The Baldrige criterion consists of questions that atomic number 18 not routinely asked on how an organization can function more efficiently. However, with TQM and Baldrige philosophies on strategic planning gaining more momentum in organizations, these questions need to be answered. These main questions that an organization must ask are to key how the organization sets its strategic objectives into action plans, what are the organizations action plans, and how is the organization able to project future carrying out on these key performance indicators or measures. In this paper, I will address these questions as they relate to UC Berkeley and the University of Colorados Campus-wide IT Strategic Plan. I will describe how apiece university employ the strategic planning process to address their needs. What are the universitys current strategic objectives, the goals for each objective and the timetable for achieving these objectives? How will each university adapt to potential growth in technology? And what measures do the universities use to track the achievement and effectiveness of their action plans?
In each report, each university clearly defined what there IT strategic plans and objectives are for their future success. By clearly defining what are their goals and needs, they mirror the Baldrige criteria. UC Berkeley defined their needs as the following:
1. primary IT resources that are adequately supported and refreshed in install to carry out their research, teaching and learning, and administrative work.
2.Seamless, integrated, immediate, and continuous self-service access to information and services.
3.Robust technology tools to support collaboration.
