Account for the origin and failure of Boudiccas revolt.

Boudicca was the Queen of the British Iceni tribe. She led a revolt against the forces of the papistical Empire in 60AD, which was ultimately unsuccessful. The get down of the revolt was the death of Boudiccas husband, force Prasutagus, and the subsequent brutal treatment of Boudicca and her daughters by the Romans. The event the Romans do by the Britons harshly and took advantage of them financially meant that there were enough people amongst other tribes to join Boudiccas revolt. Therefore this was a nonher cause of the revolt.

The failure of Boudiccas revolt was basically due to the fact that the Romans were professional soldiers, and the tribes who revolted against them were not. They also lacked the organization needed to successfully countermine a powerful army such as the Romans.

The Iceni were wilful allies of Rome while Prasutagus, their king, was alive. They were independent, and not under invest Roman control. When he died, it was revealed that Prasutagus had left half of his state to the Roman Emperor Nero, and the other half to his 2 daughters.
