The second amendment was one of the original ten amendments created by James Madison. This amendment states, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and die hard arms, shall not be infringed. Madison based this off of the founding fathers ideals, peculiarly George Washington, that well-regulated militia, which would consist of every able-bodied man in the plain is the best army of all. The second amendment grants every American the right to claim possession of a weapon. Many people snarl that they needed a sense of self- hold dearion and having a natural gas on them would be better than waiting for militia to take control. Thomas Jefferson was an activist against this amendment.

The only part of the amendment he agrees with is that humans are given the free will to protect themselves. He argues, The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against dictatorship in government. I believe that each human should have the right to bear arms for a few reasons. One, our area was founded on freedom and the pursuit of happiness, both of which are open of being applied to this amendment. As free men, we should be able to carry weapons and protect ourselves.
