In the article, Using rivulets ans an inducing to motivate procrastinators to education, written by Bruce W. Tuckman, in winter 1998, the purpose of use tests as an incentive is investigated to determine if using tests as an incentive can motivate large number to study. In order to equality both groups of college student, Tuckman seprate eight two college student in to two groups. One group was giving a spot test for each cheapter through out the smester, the other was told to writing a outline of each cheapter in the textbook for a provision assignment. In the end of the smester, we could compare the overall score on a final achievement examination. The ropic of this study leads the readers to question: wherefore is this study important to our lives?
In the literature review, the articles tell us that individuals can undertake studying while they controlled by distant f executeors or are self- regulated. In other words, some outdoor(a) factor can influence a persons behavior, and force them to study. Sometimes, people can lose their self- regulation as well, which would cause them fall out as if they are avoiding an activity under somebodys control, also called procrastination. The reason also recomand that Procrastination may result from a faction of: 1. disbelieving in ones own capability to perform a task (Bandura, 1986), 2.



Being unable to postpone gratification, and 3. Assigning peck for ones own predicament to external sources( Ellis& Knaus, 1977; Tuckman, 1989). The article also mention that a good responsibility for using tests to motiate procrastinators to study should base on a period of time. For college students , the degree to which they desired is referred to as its inentive or reward value to them.
