Divine Diamonds exhibit opens at ROM
TORONTO - Torontonians and tourists depart be wowed by Divine Diamonds, an exhibit opening at the ROM on March 9, 2012 to June 30, 2012. The exhibit will implicate rare, sparkling and expensive diamonds from across the world proving that can be loved by everyone not just by girls.
Diamonds drop always been a fascination with people across the world, particularly the ones that are exquisite and rare, said Janet Carding, director and CEO, Royal Ontario Museum. This is the ultimate opportunity for us to show the world the types of exhibits we have and the efforts we put option in.
The exhibit will let in rare diamonds from all oer the world, which supports the ROMs international reputation.
The diamonds are on bring from The Tower of London, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. and a private owner. Tickets for the exhibit are available at the museum for $15 per mortal in addition to the regular museum admission.
Featured diamonds will include: the worlds largest known diamond, the Cullinan 1, from Transvaal, South Africa weighing 530.20 carats; the quartern largest diamond, the Cullinan II, weighing 317.40 carats; the seventh-largest diamond, the De Beers diamond, weighing 234.65 carats; one of the worlds intimately sought-after diamonds, the Tavernier diamond, originally from India, weighing 45.52 carats; and the largest and most important in the crown previously belonging to the Queen Mother, the Kohinoor diamond, weighing 108.93 carats.
