The nature of human can lead community to choose between the right way and wrong.

As seen in the unforesightful story Young Goodman Brown, Goodman Brown makes a choice to overlay from his bulk and date with the devil in the forest. He seems more concerned with how his faith appears in the eyes of other people than the fact that he has decided to go against his religion and meet with the devil. Goodman Browns religious convictions argon rooted in his belief that those around him are also religious. This kind of faith, which depends so much on other peoples views, is advantageously weakened. The people of Omelas are underprivileged people who are use and overlooked by the wealthy and prosperous. The nature of mankind is revealed in happiness, which is establish on the misery of a powerless minority. The nature of mankind also shows that people in a society that kick the bucket insensible of their surroundings can be led into devising the wrong decisions.
In both of these stories the main characters are unaware of the truth of the situation. They conform into what society wants them to be, until they find the true gist of life. Finding the truth leads the characters to have a realization of what is expiry on in their surroundings. It also leads to them changing permanently. The town that they are living in shows how they have become hypocrites. The devil mentions it by saying, Ye deemed them holier than yourselves and shrank from your own sin, contrasting it with their lives of righteousness and prayerful aspirations heavenward.
